Transfers Data via the Internet


E-mail data or spool files to Internet Users
E-mail features allow you to send AS/400 data via SMTP mail services to Internet users. The following CL commands are provided and can be executed from the command line, from our main menu, or from user written CL programs:

EMLDTAF (E-mail a data file): Sends up to 50 files to multiple recipients. Physical, Logical, Source, and Save files are supported. Output format can be text, binary, CSV or TSV.

EMLSPLF (E-mail a spool file): Sends spool entry to multiple recipients. Output format can be Inline text, Attachment text, Adobe PDF, CSV or TSV.

EMLIFSF (E-mail an IFS file): Sends one or more IFS files via E-mail to multiple recipients. You can build high quality HTML or PDF attachments via PC applications and send them to Internet users.

Write data or spool files to IFS Directories
This feature allows you to place AS/400 data into the Integrated File System, where it can then be accessed by other tasks (OS/400 HTTP Server, web browsers, network server, etc.). The following CL commands are provided and can be executed from the command line, from our main menu, or from user written CL programs:

DIRDTAF (Copy data file to IFS Dir): Physical, Logical, Source and Save files are supported. Output format can be text, binary, CSV or TSV.


DIRSPLF (Copy spool file to IFS Dir):
Output format can be text, Adobe PDF, CSV, TSV or HTML.

E-mail attachments and IFS files can be encrypted. The industry standard Rijndael algorithm with a 128 bit key is supported. The encrypted file is Windows exe file that users execute. Users must enter a password to access the attachment. All E-Mail Utilities functions that support E-mail support encryption .
